choosing to find joy

i have neglected this space over the last little while. it hasn't been intentional but the way life has been lately hasn't really allowed me to sit down at a computer. however i was looking at my blog today and read the little tag line under my blog title 'finding joy in the everyday'.

 

i knew life would get crazy after micah was born but i wasn't expecting that we would be moving the same month as well! our little family of three hasn't been at home very much at all. we have been staying at our parents places so that clint doesn't have to drive so far for work each day. however, this has put me into a bit of a funk. we haven't been able to find a normal, we haven't been able to get settled and live our life as a wee little family of three.

this month has flown by and i have just been a big basket of stress because our life isn't the way i had pictured it to be. to add to the stress there is still tons of packing to be done since we haven't been home, we move in four days!

 

i have been disappointed that life isn't going the way i had wanted it to.

all of the above are excuses though.

 

i haven't been looking at the sweet little joys in each day and the many ways that God is blessing us each day.

 made this super yummy olive garden copy cat zuppa toscana  for supper last week. simple and delish!

i have been looking up ways to style my new locks, i really like this one.

my life is about to change forever and always in a very drastic way. i would love to have this print hanging on my wall because of the amazing truth it speaks.

next easter i would really love to make this resurrection garden as a visual reminder of why we celebrate.

although it is officially spring the weather here in manitoba is still cold, snowy, and the air is dry! this lemon body scrub is something i am going to try out. i can only imagine how glorious it will smell and how amazing my skin will feel afterwards. (does skin go back to normal after pregnancy?! please say yes!)

Coffee Date & Link Love

Good morning! Come on in! Take a seat, would you like coffee or tea? I made some of these cookies would you like 1 or 5? How are you doing these days? What's been on your mind? My mind has been taken over with baby prep. I am getting so antsy now and I still have 9 ish weeks left. This sweet little bundle in my tummy loves to squirm about and stretch out. I am just getting so excited to meet him or her soon. Do you have any advice do you have for a first time momma? I ordered this sweet print for the nursery, I am very excited to hang it up.

Valentines is coming up. What fun things do you have planned? Or do you enjoy the day to stay in and make the day special at home? Clint and I aren't much for making a big deal about Valentines. This past weekend Clint and I were visiting family but it was storming so our plans changed a bit.  The freshly fallen snow made everything so crisp and clean! 

All this snow and cold have me thinking about soups and warm comfort food. Want to swap recipes? I am always on the look out for some good healthy recipes. What are some of your favorites? Lately I have really been wanting to go vegetarian again. We will see after baby comes if I can manage to do it. Clint will never become a vegetarian so it makes meal planning a bit more difficult. Here are a few vegetarian recipes I want to try out.

good morning. if we were meeting for coffee today i would probably not have a chai latte instead. i have just been craving one for a while now. we could chat about the new year and all the exciting things that this year holds.  i would shared my word for 2013 with you and ask you if you picked a word?  i would tell you about this great community of people who picked a word for the year too.

 it has been a busy week over here with this cute new guy in our house.

i made this yummy baked fish with salsa for supper this week 

but instead of bisquick i just used flour and cornmeal and it turned out great!
