dreaded.

 so this happened! 

(i look a little uncertain but i was not)

i have been wanting and planning on getting dreads since i was 14 or 15. two things that i wanted to do with my hair is shave it, donate it and dread it. well i shaved it off almost five years ago exactly. i figured if i shaved it off i wanted to do it for a good cause so i donated my locks. i also knew that dreading your hair is a major commitment and one that can (unfortunately) effect where you are able to get work. so i knew that the perfect time to get my hair dreaded was once i was at home with a little one. well that time has come! it also happens that i have a friend who is a talented hair dresser and knows how to dreadlock hair, so i didn't have to just not shower and be gross. i did have to sit on my butt for almost 8 hours but that is better than not showering and i took bathroom breaks. i am pregnant after all!

i really like how they turned out. i was expecting my hair to be a.l.o.t. shorter but a lot of the length stayed. now i just wax and roll for a while until they are more permanently locked. the wax smells very manly but my hubs is thankful that it doesn't smell like dirty, sweaty man. he was totally cool with letting me get my hair dreaded, i also told him before we were married that it was in my plans to do so, so he had fair warning.

just for a while

hi friends!

just wanted to let you know that i probably won't be around here much the next few months.

as the weather is the grass is getting greener, the trees and showing signs of life, and i'm getting hitched. 

so go enjoy the fresh air! 

and be ready for some super duper fun stuff when i get back in the fall. 

that's not to say i will be completely gone during the summer.

i'm a big kid now!

 this past week has been rather eventful if i do say so myself. 

i did this little thing called graduate.

i was super duper excited, nervous, happy, excited, sad, relieved, and excited. 

i managed to make it through four years of post secondary school a.l.i.v.e.

the scariest part is that i can totally see myself going back for more education.

 

this guy was been an amazing mentor over the last four years. 

thank you dr. john mcneill for putting up with me over the last four years.

after pretty much the entire campus evacuated there were a few of us left who happen to be staying for the summer. so we had supper and then played mad gab with accents, 

so much fun! so many laughs!

  

at the grad banquet i ate a cranberry,

i also worked on some wedding stuff this week.

 so four years ago i looked like this....

there have been many many hair cuts and styles alone the way and it's been fun.

i am happy to have my long hair back but i have loved seeing all different hair lengths.

i will however shave me head again, after i get dreadlocks.

good morning!!

we got our first snow fall f.i.n.a.l.l.y.it got me really excited
i put christmas music on
started making some christmas cards
got my leg warmers out
did some christmas shopping
had a great evening with clint, his sister and brother in law
and to end it all off went to a matt good concert

the concert hall was built in 1906 and they have kept it looking beautiful
i didn't want to brave the icy roads so i spent the night in the city
so this morning im catching up with dear friends and sippin some nice strong coffee
since im still chillin in the city ill do some christmas shopping and such before the malls get to busy but i just need to pick up a few things since this year im trying to do handmade gifts

When I'm not working or reading for my one and only class
I love to walk around our campus.
It is so beautiful!
We have a creek running through and there are lots of trees and wildlife.Amongst all the hustle and bustle of life it is so nice to be still and enjoy
the beauty that God has created for us. I far to often take for granted
that I live in such a peaceful place. I often complain about
be so far away from everyone, or that its cold in the winter but
I need to be still and be content.
So many people have come and gone while I have been here and its hard.
I have kinda given up on going out to meet new people because I know that in 7 months time we will most likely live far away form each other.
Its hard having your best friends scattered from coast to coast. But maybe this is God teaching me to draw near to him.
I am not alone.
He is always with me, even when I feel alone.So do not fear, for I am with you;

hi friends!

this week has been a fun and exciting week, there is so much that will be changing in the next week and realization that summer 'break' is over is finally hitting.

so i have been enjoying my last shifts at daycare. it has been a blast and my co-workers have been fantastic. i have seriously never worked at a more welcoming environment!
at day care there have been forts built
and caterpillars that turned into butterflies that we released.
such an amazing miracle to witness!
i have enjoyed some crafting time

two little girlies celebrated their birthdays the party theme... cupcakes!
there was also a date night thrown in to the mix.
sushi... yum!i love spending time with my man!
