some crafting
I haven't been doing a whole lot of crafting lately but once the weather gets cooler and the snow starts flying I will be doing it a lot more.
One of my friends had a birthday and so I made her a little hoop art.
She saw my keep it simple hoop art so I made her one of her very own with her decor colors.
And here is her birthday card.
Blessings,
Amber

Cards from Scraps
Happy Monday friends!!
So I had a great weekend. We had another Easter celebration with Clint's family. It was lots of fun, we had to try and get the egg hunt done before the big blizzard came. It was crazy one day we were outside the next we were wearing winter coats and boots again. And now as I write this there is green grass everywhere, people doing yard work and the flowers are coming back out. Woo hoo!
I have been doing a bunch of different projects mostly trying to use up a bunch of scraps I have. I have a tendency to keep every little bit because I know I will be able to use it. So here are a few cards that I have made and the first time I have ever sewn on paper.

I will post other projects I've been working on a bit later. The internet is kinda acting weird so hope fully I'll be able to get on more this week.

happy monday
well missio dei has come and gone. there were tons of great artsy things made for the art auction. my pile of cards shrunk, which is a great thing because it means that a a bit more money was raised to go toward the building of a home for a family in need.
here are some of the cards i made for the art sale.

love in the mail...soon
ahhh the weekend what a wonderful time. the majority of the morning was spent clean. i love to clean. i enjoy it so much, turned up some melanie safka and went about like a busy bee. i kept looking for more to clean or organize. such fun! i love the feeling after cleaning as well, everything looks just fabulous and in it place. after cleaning i knew i had to dive into some class readings, for some reason the reading wasn't to bad. the clean room and bengal spice tea may have helped. also knowing i have freshly made cards to write in and send off to loved ones may have motivated me to finish my reading.
here are some of the cards that will be in the mail sometime this week.

on the go
i am starting to feel overwhelmed as this semester is in full force now. my classes have a lot of reading and assignments, i suppose that is all part of being a third year student. i have been sick for nearly four and a half weeks now, i think i have had every cold and flu that is going around.
anyways, at the beginning of february the student council is putting on Missio Dei, which is to raise money and awareness for mission organization. one of the events for Missio Dei is an art action. last year was the first year they did one and it went over very well but there was only a few participants. this year they are wanting the event to be bigger with a wider arrange of crafts and arts. sooo they have asked me to make cards to sell. this is a really great way for me to use up my stash of scraps and such. it's been lots of fun!

i also have been working on granny squares to make a blanket possibly. i'm not to sure yet and my yarn stash is running low so we will be how things go with that. making granny squares is just so simple, i find it very relaxing its a great way to wind down after a day of classes, assignments and reading.

glad to be back
last week was just so so crazy with papers, reading and studying. i should really be working ahead now but, there is no fun in that. during class today i just wanted to get back to my room and scrap. this weekend, at my boyfriend, we set up all the Christmas decorations and tree, this got me in a Christmas mood. i have been listening to Christmas music all afternoon and going through my all my 'Christmasy' scrapping stuff. so i have been working on Christmas cards.
{holly berries & blue bird}

{oh, Christmas tree}
{charlie brown Christmas tree }

so as you are preparing for Christmas enjoy the season and try not to get to caught up in all the details. relax and enjoy! there also happens to be another birthday in my dorm this month, so i made up another card. i am very pleased at how it turned out.

after a very wonderful and productive scrappy day i leave you with this,

birthdays birthdays birthdays
well this week in my dorm there are three birthdays! so wonderful! so instinctively i put aside all regard for school work and scrapping takes over. this week was short due to thanksgiving monday. however it seemed much shorter because all week i was either scrapbooking or making cards. both of which are two of my favorite pass times. i completed a scrapbook of a missions trip to vancouver i chaperoned. i had been working casually on it during the summer but of course once i have mountains of homework and studying i pull it out and finish it.
