 on sunday clint and i had nothing planned.... n.o.t.h.i.n.g. 

which is very rare for us. 

so we were more than happy to spend the day just the two of us. 

we headed to the park with our new camera in hand.

it was just what we needed.

homemade spaghetti sauce:: recipe

cooking is something that i really enjoy doing. when it comes to eating and cooking i try to eat as naturally and organically as possible as well as eating locally grown produce. this means that i try to cook everything that i can from scratch.

spaghetti sauce is one thing that is so easy and you can make in a huge batch and freeze it. 

here is my recipe for homemade spaghetti sauce

2 jar grandmas canned tomatoes

1 can tomato sauce

10 mushrooms

1 onion

2 small zucchini

2 carrots

2 peppers

4 stalks celery

5-6 cloves of garlic

parsley

oregano

basil

red pepper flakes

pepper 

chop up the veggies and saute with garlic

pour in the canned tomatoes and tomato sauce

add in parsley, oregano, basil, pepper flakes and pepper. 

bring to a light boil then turn it down to simmer for an hour

ladle sauce into a blender (make use the blender lid is on tight because the sauce is still very hot// i may be speaking from experience, maybe)

pour into containers and freeze for future use

when making spaghetti i like to add lentils or chickpeas to the sauce or you can also add fresh veggies when warming up the sauce for more texture

for clint i will brown up some beef and add it in

coffee date

hey friends lets catch up over a cup of joe, or tea, or a latte? i will be sipping on a coconut latte. there is something so comforting about warm drinks even if it is sweltering outside. if we were having coffee today i would tell you that i am fighting a nasty cold and it is keeping me up at night and all my hacking is keeping clint up too, bleh! 

i would also tell you that i was asked to start selling my crochet goodies in a brick and mortar store! woo!

i am excited about it and have been trying to build up my stash of goodies to sell.

i would also tell you that my momma, sista, and step dad are coming our for supper tonight which means... BBQ and smores! yes please!

 i would ask you how you are soaking in this beautiful summer? i have been loving it! it seems that clint and i are always out somewhere doing something but i wouldn't have it any other way. 

this past weekend we went to the lily festival, yes we are old people at heart and enjoy doing old people things. oh but the flowers were beautiful!

one month:: wedding pictures

wow time has passed quickly! clint and i have already been married for a month. it has truly been and amazing month but where has the time gone?

i thought i would share some of my favorite wedding pictures to celebrate our one month of marriage. i am absolutely in love with the pictures that our amazing photographer captured! 

i am so glad that one month ago i was able to marry my best friend and start this amazing new chapter in life with him. i am so thankful that God placed such an amazing man in my life and that we get to journey together through it all.

 

some things that i am learning and being reminded about clint:

this man l.o.v.e.s. his sleep, i knew that before but didn't realize how much!

he is not easily angered 

organization, not his strong point

he cares about how our home is decorated

 he is beyond laid back

he talks, turns lights on, and has whole conversations in his sleep

some things i am learning and being reminded about myself:

i am not good at sitting down and relaxing, there is also something that needs to be done!

meal planning is my new best friend

i am a morning person

i don't need much sleep to function

i love having fresh flowers in the house

 everything has a place, i love organization

 our first month of marriage has been fantastic and i am excited to spend the rest of my life with this amazing man. i am excited to see what our future holds, where God will lead us and the amazing adventurous we will go on.

a simple prayer

 there are so many big and little things in life that i so easily take for granted.

 clouds for shade.

material things.

 a place to call home.

 sweet baby cuddles.

 the freedom to play out side with out fear.

 road trips.

 the ability to crochet.

 a job that i love.

healthy food.

friends to share meals with.

wide open skies.

an evening summer breeze.

a different sunset every night.

thank you Lord for blessing me with more than i could ever need.

please help me to be more aware of my blessings and to use them to bless others.

 i have been on pinterest a bit (that's an understatement) and have been loving the different quotes, words, and prints that i have been finding. i may be slightly obsessing over them right now because i am working on some gallery walls in my little home.

 absolutely love this and need to keep it in mind!

lately

hey friends sorry its been quite around here lately. i have just been out enjoying the summer and slowly finding a place for everything as we make this basement suite 'our home'.

here are some of the little things that are making me smile.

 on our way home one day we stopped on the side of the road to pick

 wild flowers and pretty grasses.

my tomatoes are slowly growing, they were fried while we were away on our honeymoon so they are a little stunted. i am hoping that with some t.l.c. they will produce wonderfully though.

 fresh picked saskatoons - yum, open skies and prairie fields - i absolutely love that i live where i do!, iced coffee, working on my gallery wall in our living room. where is your favorite place/shop to get prints and pretties for your walls?

 dirty toes at work.

 painting with my hubby and listening to mumford and sons - perfect at home date night.

making chalkboard labels for all my spices and putting them in pretty jars.

these are just a few snip its of life this past week. 

what has been making you smile this week?

this weekend i am hanging out at home unpacking more boxes while clint is at work. then i get to go babysit two little cutie pies in the evening. do you have any exciting plans for the weekend? please share i would love to know!

wedding!

here are a few wedding pictures that my wonderful uncles took! 

they both happen to be photographers as well. 

so happy they were there to snap pictures of all the goings on.

these signs crack me up! clint and i just kept wrapping jute around until they wouldn't fall down but i love how it looks!

we also had a few blankets there in case any one was chilly. however the day ended up being very hot so blankets were not really necessary. some of my friends asked if it was joke because it was so stinking hot out. 

i love my brother-in-law / best mans smirk here, also daves wild hair!
