caramel macchiato & a fire place please!
Oh how I wish so much that we could have a real coffee/tea/breakfast date today! The weather it blech and all I want to do is sit in a coffee shop(with a fire place) and chatter away.
I would tell you that I love work a lot but yesterday I was covered in boogers, and unknown substances. I guess that's the way it goes at day care right?! Also kids say the most hilarious things. At our day care we encourage kids to talk to each other if they are having an issue instead of instantly telling on them. Well one little girl had stepped on another and they both came running over to me crying. I told them that they needed to talk to each other first. The girl who had been stepped on said, " Ya know it make me really sad when you step on me. I have bones in my body you know and if you step on me it will hurt me. I also don't like being your friend when you do that." I just had to sit back and smile. Then they went running off laughing.
I would also tell you that I was at a double bridal shower last night! So much fun! I love seeing all the presents that people get. I am also needing to make an appetizer for work on Wednesday for a 'going on maternity leave party' any ideas? Any good recipes? I was thinking hummus or mango salsa with stuff to dip but, I would love ideas too!
One last thing! I would tell to just brag on my boyfriend. I'm pretty sure he is the best! I love him so much and each day I am falling more in love with him. He is just the sweetest.
Hugs,
Amber

easy crochet flower tutorial
Hope your weekend was fantastic! I have something for you that I promised last week.
Step by step:
1. chain 4 then slip stitch it together
2. double crochet into the center of the loop 15 times, then join with a slip stitch
3. double crochet into the first loopy thing (so technical around here) then in the same loop do a triple crochet
4. then in the net loopy do a triple first then a double
5. then in the next loopy do a slip stitch
-then start at #3 and go through to # 5 til completed
6.(4 in the picture) do the final slip stitch
Sorry if this is confusing, just leave me a comment if you have any questions and I will get back to you just so long you are not a no reply blogger.
Be on the look out for these great flowers to be popping up in the shop some time soon.
If you see a flower headband you love and want to buy it just comment and I'll save it just for you!
Blessings,
Amber

the most perfect date
This weekend Clint and I had the most perfectest perfect date! It wasn't all fancy pants but it was perfect and lovely in every way.
We stopped to grab some cafe mocha's because it was a wee bit chilly out.We headed out to a field road and sat in the back of the truck sipping our mocha's, watched the sun set, and listened to the birds, crickets, frogs and what ever was rustling in the grass beside us. I loved every minute of it!I love spending time with my most favorite person.
I love that we both love nature and enjoy Gods beautiful and vast creation.
I love the way we date and that we don't need the fancy pants stuff. It's the little, simple things.
Once most of the storm clouds rolled in we left. But it was the most beautiful, wonderful time.
Blessings,
Amber

bits & pieces of today
May 27, 2011
Got to do some birthday baking with grandpa's farm fresh eggs.
Cupcakes got decorated! Very important when turning six!
One of the things I love most about going home to dad's is the beauty that is all around!
I am in awe of God's creation each and every time I go there.rain drops on clover, plum blossoms & grasshoppers
I could add a million more pictures but that would be a bit much.
Thank you Lord for your creation and the beauty you have surrounded me with,
whether it be in
nature
or
people.

give me your eyes
Hi hi friends! How is your Wednesday going? I can't believe that it is Wednesday already this week is flying by!
As I was driving home from a friends place yesterday this song came on the radio as I was flipping through stations and I absolutely love the chorus.
Give me your eyes - Brandon Heath
Looked down from a broken sky
Traced out by the city lights
My world from a mile high
Best seat in the house tonight
Touched down on the cold black tar
Hold on for the sudden stop
Breathe in the familiar shock
Of confusion and chaos
All those people going somewhere
Why have i never cared?
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so i can see
Everything that i keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach?
Give me your heart for the one's forgotten
Give me your eyes so i can see
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Step out on a busy street
See a girl and our eyes meet
Does her best to smile at me
To hide what?s underneath
There?s a man just to her right
Black suit and a bright red tie
Too ashamed to tell his wife
He's out of work he's buying time
All those people going somewhere
Why have i never cared?
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so i can see
Everything that i keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach?
Give me your heart for the one's forgotten
Give me your eyes so i can see
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
I've been there a million times
A couple of million eyes just moving past me by
I swear i never thought that i was wrong
Well i want a second glance
So give me a second chance
To see the way you see the people all alone
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so i can see
Everything that i keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach?
Give me your heart for the one's forgotten
Give me your eyes so i can see
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so i can see
Everything that i keep missing
That i keep missing
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach?
Give me your heart for the one's forgotten
Give me your eyes so i can see
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
This is my prayer.
Blessings,
Amber

Dear Chloe
Well my dear baby sister you are now SIX years old! The time has flown by and it is hard to believe that you are growing up so much! I so wish that I would be able to see you more often and be there for you. I hate that there is such distance between us. You are my little bean and will forever be my little bean no matter how big you get.
Your personality is so welcoming and you have a heart that cares for others like no one else I know. You always put a smile on peoples faces. Happiness pours out of you, don't ever let that change.
I love that you love to dance around with your princess dress on and make sure that I dress up too. Make overs are a must when ever I come home. Nail, hair, make-up all on the to do list. But you are not scared to get dirty. Throw you on a horse any day and you are as happy as a bug in a rug. Going down to the creek with you is one of my favorite things to do we always splash around, skip stones, chase fish, and build bridges.
I love you baby girl! You've been asking me since Christmas if I can come home for your birthday and you betcha I am! I wouldn't miss it for the world. Just slow down in the growing up department please. Thanks for being my sister. Always wanting to take pictures. Loving me. Teaching me. And being my friend.
I love you Chloe Mae!
Hugs, kisses and love from you big sister,
Amber

on my heart
at least that is what I call myself. Sometimes I feel guilty about doing so, I am a continual sinner and sometimes I know what I am doing is wrong and yet I feel no guilt. It worries me yet I keep doing it.
I am judgmental, a hypocrite, full of pride, selfish, unforgiving, scared to trust God, rarely pray, rarely read my bible, and so much more. How am I supposed to call myself a Christian, a follower of Christ when I won't let Christ take control of my life. On the side of my blog I have the verse from Ephesians 5:1-2b,
I see this verse everyday yet there is little I do:
to imitate God in everything I do,
live a life filled with love,
and follow the example of Christ.
I often find myself having this battle and I end up comparing my self to other Christians, saying well I'm better than them because I go to church or I don't swear, etc. However my heart is in the totally wrong place.
I am stuck in a rut!
I want to live my life fully for Christ, in every way! I want to enter the gates of heaven and hear the words
Well done good and faithful servant!
Have you ever been here? Will you pray for me?
Much thanks,
Amber
the reveal of lovely-ness
Well I gave you a little sneak peek at some goodies going into the shop last week. Here are a few lovely things that you can find there now.
Some super duper cute headbands. Head on over to the shop to snatch them up! They make me smile, I hope they make you smile too!
Blessings,
Amber
there once was a full moon
So the other night there was a full moon. Did you get to see it at all?
I usually don't care about such things but I thought it would be fun to try taking pictures of it. Clint knows about all the camera settings and what not I just have at it and usually get frustrated but here are a couple pictures that we got.
{Clint took this one.}

flood up date
Here are a few pictures of the flooding up in Manitoba. I have talked about it here and really appreciate all the prayers.
In the last picture I highlighted where my mom, step-dad, sister and grandparents live. We are no longer on the evac list which is wonderful. However there is still so much damage that has been done and crops are just unable to get the time they need to grow since the seeding season will be pushed back so much.
Thanks again for your prayers and thoughts!
Blessings,
Amber

breaky-coffee-tea date
I would also tell you that I am reading One Thousand Gifts, or at least trying to. You must know that I do not enjoy reading but I have heard so many wonderful things about this one that I had to give it a try. When I went to buy it that lady said this book will change your life. So maybe I'm a bit scared to dive right in. Growing and being stretched are good but can be very scary at the same time.
And I would like to tell you that I am trying to grow as many herbs this summer so that I will be able to freeze them and use them through out the year. My mom is also growing some produce for me. It is very exciting since I am going to try my hand in vegetarianism for a while. It's on my list of 25 by 25.
Oh my I have been chatting, what about you?! What is new in your life? What are you going through right now? What would you tell me if we were having a breaky/coffee/tea date this morning?
linking up for some virtual coffee.

bunting cards
Hope everyone had a fantastic weekends. I was out in the sun for nearly the whole day yesterday = very very red today. It's one of my first burns ever, usually I don't burn.
Today I have a tutorial for ya. It is a fantastic way to get rid of some scrap fabric you have laying around. Here is how to make some cute simple bunting cards.
Iron the scraps then cut them into little triangles.
Figure out where you want the triangles on the card. I use my glue runner to set the triangles in place so they don't move them I start stitching them down. Then line up the needle and away ya go.
Presto!
See so simple and super cute!
Blessings,
Amber
