free crochet pattern: hearts

these hearts are perfect for using up small balls of yarn left over from bigger projects

materials needed:

size 5 hook

abbreviations used:

st - stitch

ch - chain

sl st - slip stitch

dc - double crochet

tr - triple (trebel) crochet

step 1. ch 4

 step 2. join to first st with a sl st

 step 3. 3 tr into loop

step 4. 3 dc into loop

step 5. ch 1

step 6. 1 tr into loop

step 7. ch 1

step 8. 3 dc into loop

step 9. 2 tr into loop

step 10. ch 3

step 11. sl st into the center

  snip the end and weave the tail in

presto your done!

crochet pattern: loop around cowl

 as some of you may know i am an avid crocheter but i haven't posted a pattern on here in ages! 

i decided that needed to change. so here is a very simple pattern for a loop around cowl.

what i used:

wool ease think & quick yarn (i used 1 full ball and a little bit of a second ball)

10mm / P hook

yarn needle

abbreviation:

ch - chain

dc - double crochet 

st - stitch

 1. ch 11

 2. dc in the second ch away from the hook

(pictured below)

3.  dc in every chain until the end (9)

 4. *ch 2 (counts as first dc in next row), turn work, skip first stitch, dc in every st until the end (9)*

5. repeat from * to * for 64 more rows

 6. once you have completed 66 rows altogether cut yarn making sure there is a 14-16 inch tail

7. sew the two ends together with yarn needle and tail end of the yarn

open!

clint and i are headed to a friends place saturday

 then heading to his parents for our final thanksgiving meal of the season

 last weekend i got to see this guy at a gathering.

as we were leaving he comes and puts his hand on my belly and says take care of the baby.

clint and i were invited to a wedding

  clint ended up working late on saturday and we were sooo late for the wedding

so we skipped it and just went to the reception.

but we enjoyed our day together sipping lattes and shopping for bebe.

Hello friends!!

I hope your weekend is going wonderfully so far.

Yesterday I had a fam jam gathering. There were so many cute little cousins running about. Today I am chilling out at a friends place as some of the plumbing gets fixed at my place. I came home last night to water spraying out from behind the washing machine and a lovely puddle on the floor.

All is well though.

This evening Clint and I will be going with some friends to a folk fest. I'm excited to get all bundled up in my fall gear and maybe sip on a hot beverage.

I have also been working on some orders as well,

which is passing the time till I start work next week.

I hope everyone is enjoying these wonderful fall days!

crochet goodies

Happy Monday!

Sorry I have been slacking with the crafting posts as of late. Summer is just a busy time especially when there are beautiful summer days to enjoy and active kids that want to enjoy them with.

I will probably slow down blogging for the summer to enjoy the time outside and with family and friends. But no worries I will still be around just not as frequently.

Moving along.

I have been an a crocheting kick recently. Does anyone else go through phases of crafting?
Well I have been working on my granny square afghan. I have decided that I want the last ring around to be the same for each square so I'm just working my way through that, then it just needs to be put together! I am very excited! It will also cross off one of my 25 by 25 goals once it is done. (I will post pictures, eventually)

I bought some new yarns last week. I got a little excited and made a slouchy that was going to go into the shop but I kinda fell in love with it.

I have also been trying to use up some smaller balls of yarn that I have laying around. I feel guilty buying more when I still have a bunch. That's probably for the better. So to use up my scarps I have been slowly working on another afghan.

It gets used every once in a while. I'm excited for this one to get finished too.
I recently thrifted some amazing chairs and I want them both to have companions.

It's too humid to be outside, plus the tornado warning earlier on made me more than happy to spend time in the basement.

You should have seen the happy dance I had going on when I opened the box!! So excited about them, I seriously do not take them off!!
