the creative side

Hello again lovelies! Hope everyones day is going splendidly!

Don't forget to enter my 'moving away giveaway'.

I shared about some sewing I did this weekend. Well I'm going to show you what I was talking about.
I was itching for a new wallet but being a student I didn't have any money in the one I owned so I decided to make one. What's the worst that could have happened? I have dabbled with sewing but thought I'll only get better if I keep sewing. I found the tutorial for this wallet here. I'm going to be honest its a little confusing, but that is probably because I am not pro at sewing yet (I also hate measuring but I did my best for this).

One side of my card pockets is to small so I have coffee club cards and bubble tea card that are made of card stock in those ones. Also this was my first ever zipper! Very exciting for me! When I was younger I always let my mom put zippers in things I was making.

I topped it with a fabric flower and vintage button that was my great grandma's. So special to me. I have her old tin of buttons. I love just looking through them.

So this was my big accomplishment this weekend, papers didn't get done but I have a new wallet. I have also got complements on it so i guess it's not to shabby.

Blessings,
Amber

It is crazy to think that I can remember when you were born! Makes me feel old!

  17. Hi Amber,

I love your version of my tutorial, especially the extra embellishments you have put in. Congrats on inserting you first zipper solo! I love getting feedback and would like to know which parts of the tutorial you found confusing, and what could be explained better so I can update the tute.

Also, thanks for linking me in your post =D. I recently posted versions made from my tutorial and am very happy to include yours in the post which can be found at (http://mel-allwrappedup.blogspot.com/2011/03/patchwork-y-bifold-wallets-made-by-you.html). I have decided to pass on the link love and have linked you version back as well.

    happy crafting,
    Mel
